DOOM- 1-4 (1995)

The Doom novel series is a series of four near-future science fiction novels co-written by Dafydd ab Hugh and Brad LinaweaverKnee-Deep in the Dead, Hell on Earth, Infernal Sky, and Endgame. The series is initially based on the Doom and Doom II: Hell on Earth first-person shooter video games created by Id Software, although there are multiple departures from the game in the first two novels, and the second two continue in an independent direction to the games' storylines. The novels are primarily written from the first-person perspective of Flynn Taggart, a corporal assigned to Fox Company of United States Marine Corps, although the perspective changes from character to character in the second and third novel.

I personally read the first two novels (the two I was mainly interested in, mainly because they focused on the first two games). To me they had the feel of what DOOM 3 would eventually be. I enjoyed the books alot, and finally got books 3 and 4, so I will be reading them next.

THE WOLFEN (1979)

The Wolfen (1978) is the debut novel of Whitley Strieber. It tells the story of two police detectives in New York City who are involved in the investigation of suspicious deaths across the city,[1] which are revealed to be the work of a race of intelligent beings descended from wolves, called the Wolfen. The novel is told from the point of view of the human characters as well from the Wolfen themselves.

A film adaptation directed by Michael Wadleigh and starring Albert Finney was released in 1981.

I read this book years ago, and must say, being a fan of werewolves and that kind of stuff, I really enjoyed this book. Also, if you can get into it, this book is creepy as shit lol.

CONAN THE BARBARIAN (ROBERT E. HOWARD)

Conan the Barbarian (also known as Conan the Cimmerian) is a fictional sword and sorcery hero who originated in pulp fictionmagazines and has since been adapted to books, comics, several films (including Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer), television programs (cartoon and live-action), video games, role-playing games and other media. The character was created by writer Robert E. Howard in 1932 via a series of fantasy stories published in Weird Tales magazine.

I don't even know where to begin with Conan, seeing as how I am a HUGE fan of his, and Robert E. Howard. Simply, these books are awesome. They are the TRUE representation of Conan and his mythos (I enjoyed the Schwarzenegger films, but they just aren't true to REH Conan, IMO). If you like brutal violence, blood, adventure and all that cool shit, then pick up these books. I suggest getting any/all Conan by ROBERT E. HOWARD first, because he, afterall, created Conan, and his narrative in the books is the shit. I'm not knocking all the other writers that have put out Conan novels, it's just that I personally prefer to get REH's first to read.
